ICTT to be commissioned by March 2010




Kochi, Dec 26 (PTI) Shipping Secretary K Mohandas today said the proposed International Container Transshipment Terminal at Vallarpadam and LNG terminal at Puthuvypeen are expected to be commissioned by March 2010 and January 2011 respectively.On a query whether crisis in the Dubai World Company would affect the progress of ICTT, which is being developed with the help of Dubai Port World, subsidiary of Dubai world, he said it was not so till now, as work on the project had gone much ahead and was in the final stage of completion.

Works like road connectivity and dredging are pending and that too was expected to be completed before March 2010, he added.
