Freight rates decline on easy trucks position




New Delhi, Dec 26 (PTI) Freight charges for the ten metric tonne pay load for select destinations declined upto Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess trucks against insufficient cargo movements.Transporters said easy availability of trucks along with fall in arrivals of cargo mainly pulled down some of centres freight rates.

Delhi to Mumbai and Kolkata freights fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 17,500 and Rs 22,000 respectively.Rates to Pune and Patna rates slipped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 19,500 and Rs 19,000.

Elsewhere, other centres freight rates remained flat on some support.Following are today''s freight rates for the load of 10 per tonnes: Ahmedabad 12,000 Hyderabad 27,000 Mumbai 17,500 Vijaywada 29,000 Baroda 14,000 Chennai 35,000 Pune 19,500 Bangalore 39,000 Surat 16,000 Mysore 41,000 Kanpur 10,000 Pondicherry 40,000 Kolkata 22,000 Coimbatore 43,000 Ludhiana 9,000 Kochi 48,000 Chandigarh 7,500 Thiruvananthapuram 51,000 Jaipur 6,000 Goa 29,000 Indore 12,000 Gwalior 7,500 Patna 19,000 Guwahati 37,000.
